A genuine and charming family-run hotel with restaurant, spa and modern conference facilities in the middle of the idyllic archipelago town of Trosa. At the Stadshotell you will find personally decorated hotel rooms, good food and drink in 150-year-old dining rooms or in a modern bistro, as well as a great joy and spirit of service among the staff. It only takes 50 minutes from Stockholm by car or by Trosabussen from Liljeholmen.
Trosa and the historic hotel
Trosa is an idyllic little town in county Sörmland, located by the sea, 50 minutes south of Stockholm by car. It is a small, picturesque town along the Trosa River with small shops and cafés. Trosa has always attracted authors and artists, and the stories are many of their stays at the Stadshotell.
The charming Trosa became a popular seaside resort in the latter part of the 19th century. The Stadshotell and, not least, its garden was a center for resort guests. This is where they stayed and where the big feasts were held.The hotel and spa
Today, Trosa Stadshotell & Spa is a modern, family-owned hotel with genuine charm and atmosphere from times gone by.
The restaurant has some dining rooms with white tablecloths and cut-glass chandeliers as well as a modern bistro and bar. During the summer the restaurant has a lovely sunny courtyard outside.
The Stadshotell´s kitchen has high ambitions and an excellent wine cellar.
There are 44 rooms. Some are newly redecorated, and you can choose different categories. All rooms have hairdryer, free wi-fi, wall-mounted TV with Chromecast and breakfast is always included. The rooms with higher categories has also minibar and coffee machine.
Enjoy the hotel spa and its lovely treatments. Relax from everyday life in our hot spring, aroma room, and dry and steam saunas. There is also a training room, a spa lounge with a bar, and a shop. Our therapists are qualified in skin care.
Nearby is also an outside gym with running tracks in a lovely park/woods area.

A city break to Stockholm

As Trosa is located near the motorway to Stockholm it is ideal to stay and park your car at Trosa Stadshotell & Spa and then take the direct bus to Stockholm for a day trip. The bus departs by about 10-15 daily departures and takes an hour each way. It stops in Stockholm, Liljeholmen adjacent to the subway which takes a few minutes to the city center.
The hotel has free car parking with electric vehicle charging for two cars.
Activities
Trosa Stadshotell & Spa is working closely with several other organizers in town conducting activities for our guests. Everything from kayaking, bicycles, MTB, boat trips in the archipelago, hiking, fishing, golf, trips with lunch/picnic to Tullgarn Palace near Trosa is one of the most popular royal destinations.

By car – The E4 goes through Trosa municipality. The distance from Vagnhärad to Södertälje is just over 30 km, to Stockholm it is 70 km and to Nyköping about 40 km. Find directions using Google Maps.

The Restaurant at Trosa Stadshotell & Spa
The restaurant has some dining rooms with white tablecloths and cut-glass chandeliers, where meals have been served since 1867, as well as a modern bistro and bar. During the summer the restaurant has a lovely sunny courtyard outside. The Stadshotell´s kitchen has high ambitions and an excellent wine cellar.
The restaurant is the biggest unit at the hotel. The restaurant has become a natural meeting place for Trosa’s inhabitants on ordinary days as well as for celebrations.
Sörmland is rich in good produce and we constantly try to reflect that in our menus. Our aim is to provide our guests with good food and to remove everything that is artificial.
From September – May, lunch is served between 12 – 2 pm every weekday. The evening menu is served from 18.00 Monday – Saturday.
In the summer, it is open in the evening every day of the week, but lunch is not served. You can always get a shrimp sandwich/shrimp salad.

An enjoyable spa visit
The spa at Trosa Stadshotell includes a relaxation area with a hot spring, aroma room, two saunas and a lounge with a small bar. You find harmony and can relax from stress and soften tense muscles.
There is a shop where we offer various skin care products and can give good advice and we also sell many gift items. You will also find a treatment menu for both face and body. Treatments should be pre-booked well in advance. Our therapists are qualified in skin care.
